The John D. Runkle School is a primary school located in Brookline, Massachusetts. The school currently teaches around 600 students in a three-story red brick school building, which includes a computer lab and is adjacent to a playground of about . Usually, there are three classes at each grade level. The school recently underwent a renovation. The school was established by the town in 1897 and named after the second President of MIT, who was also a chairman of the Brookline School Committee and an early advocate of mathematics and science. The current principal is Dr. Vanessa Beauchaine. The vice-principal is Jim Stoddard. The school offers several sports teams including Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field. It also allows kids to try Math Counts and Math League which is where kids go and try difficult math problems and compete in math tournaments. == External links==
